WHAT ARE MSC’s?

MSC’s are cells that have potential to develop into many different cell types in the body. Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, these cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells. These daughter cells either become new cells or become specialized cells with a more specific function, such as muscle cells, blood cells, brain cells, heart muscle cells or bone cells. No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types.

TYPES OF MSC’s

Immature MSC’s

Immature MSC’s can be found in the amniotic 5luid or the umbilical cord. These cells have the potential to become any cell in the body. These kinds of cells can be extracted from the umbilical cord tissue after a C-section birth.

Adult MSC’s

Adult MSC's all have a function that is dependent on where these cells are found. These cells do not have the most growth-factor potential and can’t change into other cells like immature MSC's cells can.
